32 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2020 | There have been a few "holes in one" during February, but most notable is the one by the shy, retiring, warm, soft spoken guy that most of you have never heard of… but he is out there just waiting to meet you with his soft laugh and ready sneer. Yes, it is the three time hole in one expert, the person that plays in all the tournaments and twice a week, if he can, for so many years, the one the multiple Big Al "one bounce" Lipitz. Congrats big guy. Sorry, too shy for a picture. Others are much better golfers and nicer guys and gals than the Big Al, but no one signifies the modest example of sportgirlship that Big Al does. Other "holes in one" on much more difficult holes are as follows… Fred "the giant" Peppe on hole one and John Jarf [Star war's name] on the most difficult 13. I do have to thank the ladies for the fun day of golf and the lunch they put on that brought out almost 100 to the Galentines day Gorilla tournament. What an amazing day was in store for the Flight C and D ladies. Imagine that with a net number of strokes at only 35.25 and 37.75, they crushed the opposition. Flight C team of Singh, Novellino, Marks, and Jones and Flight D team of McBride, Carso, Gayvert, and Ball both won first place in their flight. Of course this event could never have gone on without the help of lots of volunteer work. Thanks to them and the GUYs who did the setup and delivered the meals like good waiters Greg Cies and that other guy in the pic with him. You know fans, there are lots of extra golf clubs in the Casa belonging to someone. Either you lost a club or just tired of it… check them out. Another note of information… you are supposed to be checked in 15 minutes before your tee off time. We are going to have to put foursomes ahead of you if you do not show on time. It is becoming a problem, so get there on time. Captains, please help us out on this request. What happened at the great golf town meeting? I am certain you have heard lots of stories, but the one I like the most is the oldest crybaby one that seems to echo every time there is an improvement or change… that your property value will go down if the reserves are used… get a life people! Your property value has doubled since the first time I heard that just a few years ago. Remember when the cry went up when we needed to take out the grass. It was deafening about property values and becoming a desert. Since then, values are up another 15 percent. I also heard a very good complete presentation that was greeted with words like: trees, insects, trees, water fowl, trees, paths, trees, etc. Good questions OHCC homeowners too. If you were not there you can see it on OHCC TV. Too bad you couldn't make it in person as the cookies were top notch. Hal Stephens… bbopalua@yahoo.com for comments.
