The beginning of 2020, and the resultant Board action, is progressing at an amazing pace! The Board has established the highest priorities for projects to be the Clubhouse Renovation Project, the Golf Course Upgrade/Well Conversion Project, and the Lanai Project, which includes renovations to the golf casa. We are working on all projects simultaneously, and including multiple other matters, such as demolition of the existing and irreparable lanai structure, our paving management plan for asphalt in the Village of Zante and Santorini, and including re-striping of Leisure Village Way and the entry/exits at the front and back gates, painting of streetlights throughout the community, expansion of Wi-Fi capabilities in the clubhouse, windscreens on the tennis and pickleball courts, and developing alternatives to improve the crib wall adjacent to the back yards of homes on Delos Way. We are also very excited about the development of a new website for the Community, and look forward to working with the Marketing and Communications Committee and the Vice President of Technology, Ken Wright, of Keystone. Did you know? The Citation Review Committee has reviewed nearly 70 citations, and scheduled nearly as many Hearings (for moving violations), so far this year. The Architectural Review Committee is also very busy, handling nearly 70 applications as of the writing of this message, and collecting over $30,000 in deposits, ranging from $25 - $1,025, depending on the complexity of the project. Interestingly, there were 39 applications for solar panels last year, compared to only 19 in 2017. The emerging technology that benefits residential installations falls right into place with California's environmental goals. Plus, we've decaled more that 2,600 vehicles in OHCC since the beginning of January! For those 300+ residents who have not obtained the 2020 decal, please be aware existing transponders will be deactivated on or around April 1! Please contact the HOA if you have not updated your vehicles with the Association. On another note, we were very pleased to honor our outgoing volunteer Committee members for all Standing Committees for the Master Association, and to welcome our new and continued volunteers at our Appreciation Luncheon at the end of January. These committees are an integral part of managing the business of the Association, and I cannot express in words the admiration I have for the commitment required to keep these committees viable and relevant, all to the benefit of Ocean Hills Country Club. Also progressing at an amazing (and alarming) pace, of course, is the spread of COVID-19. We know that our aging population, many of whom are world travelers, are at particular risk of contracting this disease. On behalf of the Master Association Board of Directors, Staff will continue to send eblasts relative to this matter. Please be aware that conditions and warnings from the Center of Disease Control (CDC), the California Department of Public Health, and a myriad of other resources, are rapidly changing. The most consistent advice has been to wash your hands frequently and don't touch your face. It appears that an elevated fever of 100.4° Fahrenheit is one of the first indications of COVID-19, along with a dry cough and soreness. And please, do not congregate with others if you have any of these symptoms, or if you are aware of others who may have been in contact with other high-risk individuals. General Manager's Message By Wendy Panizza 4 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2020 | By Scott Lemieux, CPS Director March has seen a continuation of what CPS began in earnest at the end of February, which was to focus on preparedness to respond to emergencies on the golf course. This has involved officer-wide training to ensure all officers understand where the emergency access points to the golf course throughout the community are located. We've finalized and submitted for review and approval through our corporate office a comprehensive, yet flexible plan to respond to a number of scenarios that may arise on the golf course. CPS is continuing to coordinate with both Vista and Oceanside EMS to better support our critical partners when they respond to emergency incidents within OHCC. To that point, I understand there is concern that EMS is able to access the back gate during hours when the back gate is not manned by a CPS officer, which is 11 pm to 7 am, seven days a week. I confirmed with the North County Dispatch Joint Power Authority that each EMS unit has lock box codes, keys and transponders to access the back gate when it is not manned by a CPS officer. If you have any questions regarding this or other EMS – related concerns please contact me at your convenience. As always if you have any questions or recommendations please feel free to contact me at the front gate and I'd be happy to assist you. Please remember to abide by posted speed limits and obey all traffic signs. Safety is the objective, not citations. We all contribute to the culture of safety within the community. Safety doesn't happen by accident. Community patrol services
