| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2020 | 13 District Delegates & Alternates Badly Needed By Joe Formino, Chairman, District Delegate Assembly This is the month of May and ordinarily we would have some new members on the Board of Directors and some new District Delegates and Alternate Delegates. But not this year of 2020 — our world is turned upside down. We are confined and lonely. We cannot go anywhere or do anything. It's as if time is standing still. But put on a "happy face" and think one thing, "this too shall pass!" Here is the bad news; when the election takes place Districts 6, 12 and 15 will not have a District Delegate or an Alternate Delegate. These Districts will be rudderless ships with no leaders, possibly no newsletters and no one to supply them with the flow of information needed in these times of stress. The Districts who will be without Alternate Delegates are; Districts 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 15, 16, 17. The District Delegate is the conduit through whom communication and vital information is passed from the HOA to the residents. The District Newsletter is the greatest information link in our community. Further, the District Delegate plans all of the events and activities and monitors the income and expenses of the District. When the residents in their District need directions or assistance in communicating with the Administration, the Delegate knows what direction to choose. We need leaders. Sun Lakes Country Club Bylaws and CC&Rs define the position of the Delegate and Alternate Delegate. One of the primary duties of the District Delegate, as part of the Delegate Assembly, is the election of the members of the Board of Directors. They perform as the Electoral College electing the members of the Board. Further, they act as the House of Representatives, presenting recommendations to the Board for action. The Alternate Delegate is the assistant to the Delegate, ready to step in whenever necessary. Our complex is divided by law into 23 Districts. The Districts range from 64 to 233 homes depending on their configuration and location. The State of California laws, as well as the By-Laws and the CC&Rs, direct the Homeowners Association in its entire operation. The District Delegate Assembly is a part of this legal establishment. The most profound action on the part of the Assembly is the communication link that exists between the HOA and the District. It results in an informed residential base. We could use your help in managing these Districts. Give us a call! DISTRICT DELEGATE ASSEMBLY REPORT SIRIT TAG (TRANSPONDER) TIPS & GUIDE • Keep the Sirit tag dry for 12 hours, following installation on the headlamp, to ensure it adheres properly. • A Sirit tag will be disabled and no longer work if it is tampered with or damaged. • If the Sirit tag is not working properly it will be replaced free of charge within the first 30-days, if it has not been tampered with or peeled off. • A Sirit tag that stops working for any reason after the 30-day warranty expires or is damaged due to an automobile accident will be the responsibility of the resident to replace. • Please advise vehicle service providers (car dealership service centers, mechanics, collision centers, car washes, detail shops) to refrain from tampering with or removing the Sirit tag. • Do not use a pressure washer or buffer/polisher directly on a Sirit tag. • If a headlamp is replaced where a Sirit tag is affixed, it will be the responsibility of the resident to purchase a new tag. 2020 AGE VERIFICATION FORM Pursuant to the federal government and state law (please refer to the governing documents and CA Civil Code Section 51.11), every owner of, or person residing in, a home at Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowner's Association must complete a 2020 Age Verification Form, to certify his/her eligibility to reside in the Association, which is a senior community. This must be done to ensure at least 80 percent of the community is 55+. This requires each resident, in the home, to fill out a separate 2020 Age Verification Form and supply proof of age (i.e. – California Driver's License, California ID Card, Passport or Military ID). Return completed form(s) to the Administration Office no later than Friday, July 31, 2020. Contact the administration office at (951) 769-6649 if you need additional copies of the form or have questions regarding how to fill it out.
