| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2020 | | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2020 | 59 59 TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) At this writing, we hope all Sun Lakers are staying strong and staying well. At a time when social distancing is the new reality, it's easy to feel alone and disconnected. That's why it's important now more than ever to reach out via phone, text, email, letter or social media. Stay in and practice some serious self-care. Find balance between staying informed while still taking time to unplug and reset. TOPS is here to help with all of this. Here are a few ways to help you keep on track with your goals and still feel connected with your chapter and TOPS community as a whole. 1. Just because we have to stay at home doesn't mean you can't keep moving! Check out a variety of at home workouts available on www.tops.org. 2. If you have a scale, you can always weigh yourself at home to help stay accountable to yourself. 3. Take time to do spring cleaning. Decluttering certain areas of your life (or your home) can be a great stress reliever. 4. Watch one of our recorded webinars on TOPS website (members area). 5. Try some of the great recipes in your TOPS magazines (easy to make). Our TOPS Club, Inc. President, Rick Danforth has announced that the TOPS ban that began March 16 stated, "TOPS members are safer at home until at least May 4." All TOPS chapter meetings, (including weigh-ins), and KOPS Society meetings will honor this tentative date. Expect any change of this date to be announced by May 1. Our TOPS chapter had only two weigh-ins for the month of March. We did have some good losses and would like to honor the following members: Coralynn Bernier, Mary Boucher-Tyson, Bea DiMatteo, Darleen Moxon, Elisia Mata, Mickey Pease, Linda Miller, and Ann Oliver. Congratulations to all of you! KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) members in good standing are Yvonne Adams, Alma Bolla, Linda Callahan, Terry Foster, Jon Haman, Lynne Haman, Carol Kreckow, Donna Leone, Dorothy Monterville, Jan Prindle, Ruth Schoonover and Rosalee Strong. Great job in keeping your weight off sensibly! KOPS Honor Society Luncheon/Meeting on May 2 has been canceled until further notice. Our TOPS Southern California Area Recognition Days has been rescheduled and will be held on Aug. 28 - 29, at the Double Tree Hotel located at 222 North Vineyard Ave, Ontario, CA. TOPS members start making your plans to attend. We will keep you informed with the date that our TOPS chapter will resume meetings at South Clubhouse.
