10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2020 | Emergency preparedness committee The First Commandment of COVID-19: If you don't encounter COVID-19, you won't get COVID-19. Practice hand washing constantly. Practice Social Distancing • Stand over six feet from any other human including friends, and relatives… anyone. • Just because someone does not have symptoms, doesn't mean they are free of the virus. • Do not stand in lines ANYWHERE. Find another solution. • Have groceries and prescriptions delivered. • Do not socialize at your house or a friend's house. • Each time you're potentially exposed, e.g., grocery shopping, behave as if you're infected until you have no symptoms for 14 days. Don't infect others. If you have a mask, any mask, wear it properly when out in public or have visitors in your home. Finally, when you were growing up if anyone ever said, "you're not going to amount to anything," know it isn't so. Embrace the 'Stay at Home' program, lay on your couch, and you save the world! You're a hero. Plan. Prepare. Survive… Laugh. Our Mission The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer. We meet the third Monday at 9:30 am. You can help yourself. To learn how to get ready, go to https://fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive..
