| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2020 | 5 The surrealism of our lives as we approach the first of May. Many of you after being inside might just be screaming MAY DAY! I sat in the plaza for a little while this morning just to soak in the beauty of the newly dressed trees in their spring suits and Easter dresses. As I admired the new growth, the sounds of the many birds came alive. One after another they called out to their friends and family. Each with their own distinctive sound. It was so lovely and evoked multiple emotions. I am grateful that in these uncertain times I am employed. I am inspired to sing out each day to my family and friends sending out a song of hope and joy. This is the point where you should be grateful I am just sending emails since I really can't carry a tune. In our time of renewal many of you have cleaned out your closets, garages and any space you could reach. My thought that this is different for retired folks than working folks, but bottom line is our schedules and routines and fears have shifted. I have gained more perspective of the benefits of living in an active HOA. This is a new environment for me and sometimes I hear an unfavorable comment regarding living in a restrictive community. Also through the years the many jokes at an HOA's expense. From where I am sitting I want to share what I have learned so far in this new experience. I have seen firsthand how this community has risen to the occasion of helping each other. I get a bit choked up thinking about the conversations I have had with residents willing to jump to action to help each other. I am also proud of you who accepted the assistance. When you live in a regular neighborhood your street captain doesn't worry if you know how to access online food or medicine deliveries (there are no street captains). Your Team Sunshine doesn't offer to get your food from the corner Bistro, they don't offer to meet you just for conversation to cheer you up (there is no Team Sunshine). You may paint your house your own creative color choice or let your weeds grow (there are no enforcers). These actions of neighbors helping neighbors were beautiful examples of why a person would choose to live in an HOA plus you don't have to look at somebodies poor choice in door color, well not for long (wink). The number of residents who have reached out to check on my well-being is another touching act. I was (still am) anxious to meet more of you in this community during the Music on the Plaza, but as we are all aware the most activity I have had is to cancel this and cancel that. I am looking forward to the time when I know we get to move forward with our plans. I can't wait to welcome you back to your Lodge! A Note From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers
