SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MAY 2020 19
By Dick Roppé, Resident
Along with this article, I wanted to add a personal note and tell
about my family's connection to the Spanish Influenza of 1918. My
grandfather Oscar Roppé and his brother Theodor both died during
this pandemic. They were 39 and 37 years old respectively. At the time
of grandfather's death my dad Sydney was 11 years old and his brother
was 9.
That being said, I'm so impressed with our community and how
everyone has pulled together with high spirits during this time of crisis.
Making sure I was observing the appropriate "social/physical distance,"
I made a few trips around our Solera neighborhood looking for folks
doing responsible "stuff." Here are a few visuals. Some have been added
for a little humor.
