men's golf Welcome to May! This will definitely be a busy month of golfing for our Men's Club members. Our Quarterly Tournament is on May 1, Member-Guest on May 18, Club Championship on May 22, 24, and 25, and the start of our President's Cup on May 27. Good luck to everyone in all of the events. This year, the Club Championship will have three groupings: Club Champion, Senior Club Champion and Super Senior ("80 Plus") Club Champion, plus two options within each grouping. Dues are just $65 per couple, ($32.50 for single players) and for that you and your partner get a free catered lunch each quarter served at our quarterly club meeting. Wow! We tee off on the Championship course each Sunday at 9 am and play a different type of fun tournament each week. Our tournaments are designed for all skill levels, and they are truly more for fun than pressure. The tournament entry fee is only $5 each week you choose to play, and that fee pays for that week's prize money. Also if you're a single golfer or do not have a partner to play with, call Vice President Jack Sidwell at 769-9316. We will try to match you up with a great golf partner. Would you like to learn the game and truly enjoy the learning experience? Then this is the book for you! It will help golfers of all ages and stages, from the beginner to the most accomplished. The first round is at the Pendleton Marine Base Course on July 30, and we will play the Pala Mesa Course on July 31. Everyone is welcome so save the dates. Look for more details and the sign up in the Pro Shop soon. women's golf Please join us in the Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club (S.L.W.G.C.) and enjoy 18 holes of golf on the championship course each Thursday morning and the first Saturday of the month. Our tournaments are flighted and membership includes a WSCGA sanctioned handicap. Come out and play a variety of golf games, meet new friends, and enjoy the Sun Lakes life! Tournament winners will have $ credited to their accounts which can be used at the Restaurant/ Lounge or to purchase items at the Pro Shop. A catered lunch will follow the tournament in the North Clubhouse where there are also chances to win prizes. If you are interested in joining in on the fun, all Sun Lakes male golfers are encouraged to come out on Friday mornings at 8:30 am at the North Pro Shop for a 9 am tee time. The Executive Course comprises 18 challenging holes requiring shots over ravines and water playing to a par 60 with six par 3s and three par 4s each nine. Throughout 2013, we have tournaments on the third Friday of the month followed by lunch. Friday morning golf with the Executive Men's Golf Club is challenging and fun. We are open to any male resident who is interested in golf fun and camaraderie. New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop and any interested Sun Lakes male resident is invited to join. On the third Tuesday of every month club members meet at the South Clubhouse for a short meeting and afterwards a catered lunch is served for just $10. Guests are always welcome.
