EXCURSIONS Hollywood Bowl with Josh Groban Spring Garage Sales Tues., July 2, 3 - 11 pm, $65 pp. Back by popular demand, the Hollywood Bowl! Not only will there be fantastic music by Josh Groban, but also a superb display of fireworks. Josh Groban, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and record producer. His first solo album has been certified multi-platinum and he has sold over 25 million records world- wide. He will be playing an array of patriotic songs and music, assisted by the Phil Harmonica Orchestra, with thrilling fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July at the end. Large video screens on both sides of the stage will provide a more intimate experience and a great view no matter where you sit. You can bring you own food and beverage, and you may eat at your seats or at one of the picnic areas scattered around the grounds. If you do not want to picnic, there are many food choices from gourmet restaurants to concession stands. NOTE: There is no dinner included (you can bring your own picnic or purchase food on-site); coolers larger than 15"wide x 15"high x 22" long will not be permitted past the gate; Tupperware with food and beverages is permitted along with wine bottles and wine glasses; seat cushions are available to rent for a nominal fee Sat., May 11, 7:30 - 9 pm, Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Enjoy an evening of laughs with Corporate Comedy Entertainment featuring great comedians from the Los Angeles area. Tickets are $7 pp and doors will open at 6:30 pm. Lottery dates will run from April 8 – 14. The pick will be on April 15, and posted by April 17. Any remaining tickets will be available beginning Tues., April 16. If you have any questions concerning the lottery, please call the Recreation Department at 845-2191. Sign-ups begin for the Recreation Department excursions on May 1, at 8 am, in the Rec. Dept. offices. PLEASE NOTE! Due to some of the excursion refund policies, and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. Senior Health Fair Thurs., May 9, 9 am – 12 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. You're invited to attend our 13th Annual Senior Health Fair in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. This event is co-sponsored by the Visiting Nurses Association and will feature over 50 exhibits dedicated to senior issues and concerns. Through recent player acquisitions and the emergence of young talent such as 2012 Rookie of the Year "Mike Trout" we believe 2013 can be a historic season for Angels Baseball. You're seating will be in section 343 rows C through F. You will also have stadium wait staff for food and drinks (purchased on your own), as well as the full use of the "Knothole Clubhouse!" The museum, featuring four floors of breathtaking exhibits, is home to more than 10,000 authentic show biz treasures – one of a kind costumes, props, and vintage memorabilia from favorite films and TV shows. Then it is off to the LA Farmers market which includes 110 stall and more than 30 restaurants, plus the landmark 1941 Clock Tower. If a holiday falls on the first day of the month, sign-ups will begin the next day. waiting list policy The waiting list is created by the Rec. Dept. for sold out events/ excursions. This list is used (in order of registration) when the attendee has to cancel due to illness, doctor's appointment, etc. The waiting list is not used for additional sign-ups for secondary excursions that are scheduled due to their popularity. Contact the Rec. Dept. if you have any questions about either of these two policies. We accept checks only (payable to Sun Lakes). All Recreation Classes, Excursions, and Special Events are open to residents only, unless otherwise specified.
