Call Mary Ann Ivey (The Sock Lady) at (951) 769- 1095 Keep On Writing It seems like everyone is ready to predict the end of this crisis; but until the bans are lifted, there will be no meetings of the Sun Lakes Creative Writers, a group of folks who love to write. Hopefully, everyone will spend this time writing and/or reading. It's actually a good time to write that book, or at the very least a long short story. Normally we meet at the Main Clubhouse in the Multipurpose Room between 3 and 5 pm on the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month. There are no dues, no formal meeting agenda, and no opening song or crazy hats; it's all about writing. You get to read whatever you are working on, sort of like the Broadway tryouts in Philadelphia before going big time. Whether your writing is a memoir, poetry, fiction or non-fiction, the group can offer you a gentle critique or suggestions — or sometimes simply a good old fashioned, "Hey, good job!" When the time is right and the world has some semblance of order to it we will be back in business, laughing and crying at our group's stories. So, in the meantime, just take a Tylenol, gargle and wash your hands one more time and keep an eye on Lifestyles or channel 97 for updates on our next meeting. For more information call Roger Smith at (951) 769-2808. Sun Lakes Mudslingers We meet Tuesdays from 6 to 9 pm and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. No prior experience needed.
