50 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2020 | Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive Golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9-hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18-hole tournaments and "away games" a few times during the year. Beginning Oct. 1, we meet at 8:30 am with a tee time at 9 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch ($10) at the South Clubhouse. Guests welcome! For lunch information, call Doreen Bryant, (909) 595-1974. You can read more about LEGS or check out our monthly newsletter at www.sunlakescc.com under "Golf." If you have questions and/or would like to join our club, please call Judy Jones, (858) 752-1383. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the Rules of Golf. Join us! Lady Niners Have you been out on the golf course, enjoying the beautiful weather and the panorama of our lush green fairways against the snow-covered mountain top? Living at Sun Lakes gives us a wonderful way-of-life! As we continue to wait for life to return to normal, many facilities have slowly been opening, but Lady Niners have not yet been given the go-ahead to return to normal play. So in the meantime, take advantage of our open courses. Lady Niners have the distinct advantage of playing on a championship course, having the opportunity to work on their GHIN handicap and yet playing 9 holes of golf each Thursday. We enjoy competing for a Club Championship, a monthly "Cup" competition and Most-improved Player for the year. We play a variety of golf from "Scramble" format, Individual Low Net competition to a fun game usually once a month. Your putts can be tracked along with chip-ins and birdies. Lady Niners are always looking for women golfers who are interested in having a good time. Contact Teri at (951)769-3704 to find out more about being a Lady Niner. Women's Golf Hello ladies - here we are in June. I am sure you have heard that a few restrictions have been lifted. We now can golf on both courses with or without wearing our mask. However, the official statement said, "It is strongly recommended to wear face covering and to practice social distancing." We will continue to drive our carts separately. As you know, our Club calendar for May had included one of our favorite tournaments, the 3-day Eclectic. The Board continues to review our calendar and has made contingency plans to fit it in wherever possible. We look forward to letting you know when we all will be able to gather for our First Thursday game, Luncheon, and General Meeting once again. We are thankful to still be able to publish our Tee Times newsletter as it helps us celebrate friends' birthdays, learn of a member(s) who may need sunshine or get-well cheer. Continue to be safe and healthy. Remember, every day may not be good but there is something good in every day! Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
