Happy Cookers
Yahoo! Happy Cookers is hoping to reactivate Fri.,
June 26 at 11 am in the South Clubhouse. Just imagine
being a super sleuth chef and wondering if you are
having blueberry coffee cake with a disguised criminal.
The recipe is in the back of many books. Happy Cookers
will be having a "Literary Feast" combining recipes from
the books, tasty treats, and editorial reviews. It should
be a mind/mouth tingling meeting. Join us every fourth
Friday of the month.
Speaking of joining us, Happy Cookers has recently
experienced the loss of a dear and very active member,
Carolyn Wright. She was the club's Membership
Chairwoman who was known for her spry sense of
humor and giving new members a spoon. When
helping family members review Carolyn's book
collection, a club member found her mother's old recipe
for barbecue sauce. The member forgot the amounts
so we improvised. The original recipe used Pepsi and
ketchup. Carolyn liked to eat so we went a little further.
We think she would like this!

Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
20 oz. ketchup
1 can Pepsi (others have tried Coke, Dr. Pepper and even Root Beer!)
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. ground pepper
1 to 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. honey
Mix all ingredients and simmer down to half the amount or thick sauce
consistency. Cool and enjoy Carolyn's inspired recipe.
