10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2020 | Emergency preparedness committee Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. We meet the third Monday at 9:30 am. For more information visit https:// fscert.org/cert-volunteer You can help yourself. To learn how to get ready, go to https://fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive. Articles from the clubs and committees are due three weeks prior to publication, and information on the latest may be out of date by the time you receive your copy of the Herald. For this reason, the Landscape Committee's article reflects what happened in early May, and new information may guide our Committee work. To date, we have had requests to replace plants and dead trees and we continue to review requests. We note that Artistic Maintenance continues to work during the week keeping our community looking beautiful. We appreciate that Maria Donti has reached out to the Landscape Committee on urgent issues to ask for input and feedback. Many of us look forward to getting back to serving our community more actively once the restrictions have been modified or lifted. We thought you may want to know about some of our committee members. This month, we feature Irene Becker, Co-Chair of the committee. Irene, along with her husband Blair, has lived in Four Seasons since 2007, she retired in 2016. She joined the Landscape Committee in the fall of 2018. She has enjoyed working with the committee members on a variety of landscape issues. One of the things she learned about was the "little known" common areas, such as Singh basin and LOT A, which is behind the homes on the southwestern "hill" of our community. She enjoys meeting monthly with Artistic management to address the concerns of the committee. She has learned a lot about plants and landscaping, which is not in her background. She thanks the committee members for sharing their knowledge, expertise and their shared vision to keep Four Seasons a beautifully landscaped community. Lastly, she enjoys many of our community amenities and events, including Music on the Plaza, the pool, the Christmas decorations throughout The Lodge in December and the friendly staff at The Lodge! The Landscape Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1 pm at The Lodge. Residents are welcome to attend. Landscape Committee
