"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Moving Forward with a Grateful Heart: As we prepare this input to the June 2020 Herald, we are not sure if we are now in the "bright sunlight" of renew and repair or still sheltering in place. With that in mind, let us review some of the volunteer activities that have kept us busy in serving the Four Seasons community. Bistro: Team Sunshine, as well as other Four Seasons residents, have provided food orders to our front doors. Rain or shine, these individuals have picked up Bistro food orders and delivered them to homes in our community. The volunteers are required to wear masks and gloves. The delivery is placed at the front door and a door bell alerts the recipient of the delivery. This service has been well received. It is a privilege to serve! Making Face Masks and Delivery: "Calling all Seamstresses" – our message was received loud and clear that, not only Team Sunshiners, but anyone in our community with this talent would be welcome in this endeavor. About 15 seamstresses lent their expertise to this sewing project. At this date, over 1,600 masks have been sewn and delivered to residents in Four Seasons. Our sewing and delivery teams are true HEROES. Curbside Conversations: Many of our residents are alone and find they are experiencing increased feelings of loneliness and anxiety. Our Conversationalists schedule an appointment to visit from the curb and hopefully provide a social connection for these neighbors. As with all our outreach, proper social distancing and the wearing of masks and gloves is strictly adhered to. Celebrations/Memorials: We received the news of the passing of Carolyn Wright in early April and extend our sincere condolences to Barrie and her family. We are told her family will hold a Celebration of Life once the restrictions are lifted at The Lodge. We don't always know of all the passings in Four Seasons or the families do not always need our assistance. However, at this time we do understand the blessings of connection within this community. Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. Call Marietta at (325-8348) and she'll give you details. Also, a prayer request box is located in the Multipurpose Room. Closing Thoughts: "I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." ~ Helen Keller 20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2020 | Team Sunshine Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time.
