I formed the Library Committee in 2007. So many changes have occurred in these years but the stay-at-home order has been the change that has impacted us the most. I cannot wait to visit that beautiful room. I still have many books to read but am eager to exchange books I have read. We have no idea when we will be able to resume our "author talks," but I am still checking out writers to consider. Vicki Hitt will be first with her published book, Family Matters. Then we will have Jan Moran who writes the best romantic books, clean ones at that. I just finished her Seabreeze Inn trilogy and hated to see it end. Many residents have AND use Kindles for reading. My husband and I both like the feel of a book in our hands. We have Kindles but I'm sure they need charging. One of our newest finds is author D. P. Lyle. I am so lucky that his editor, Nancy Whitley, is a neighbor of mine. My husband and I have finished four of his books recently. He is very talented. Check him out by going to his website. He is a cardiologist and a master at "who done its!" He has worked on many television shows to keep them authentic. Download a book or two. My husband just finished Jim Hitt's book, Bodie, and, in his words, "this man can write!" That is my next book to read. Jim writes from his heart and I have loved each of his books. Jim will be speaking when possible. It won't be long before you can visit our library. Don't forget to look through the non-fiction books now easily seen. All the shelves underneath the paper backs are full. Enjoy them. All of our magazines will be outdated so please bring current ones for us to display. We will need to recycle what we have — very slowly so we aren't empty. The Library Committee hopes our Four Seasons friends are safe. Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Until next month… Cookie From Blair (with the new hip); "Take a good book to bed with you – books do not snore." ~ Thea Dorn 12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2020 | Library Committee I will open with a "hello" greeting to all of you for June, because as you are reading this, it is almost June. It is rather hard to even suggest what changes may have taken place by then. (This article has to be sent today, May 8, to be ready for the June publication.) I sure wish I had the power to foresee into the future; I can only tell you a couple of things that I do know. We have all had enough unwelcome changes these past months and can't wait for normalcy to return! A Bistro change that has already been decided is that when the Bistro does re-open, the "Sunday Brunch for Two" coupon will have an expiration date on them, and all older coupons are now considered null and void. I have no news yet of the Bistro re-opening for sit down meals but you will get the news by e-blast as soon as the restriction is lifted. We also hope to continue to have music from our local musicians at the Special Friday Buffets if their groups are still available. We all give thanks to Francisco and staff for hanging in there against difficult odds and keeping the Bistro open and running with Daily Specials to whet our appetite. MEGA-sized thanks also goes out to the wonderful volunteers who happily picked up and delivered food from the Bistro. It certainly filled in a gap for those people unable to get out and pick up for themselves. We also offer praise to the wonderful seamstresses who keep us supplied with masks! I'm sure I've missed naming many others who deserve praise along with police, medical staff, firemen, and military. You are all wonderful and worthy. Again… thank you to you all from all of us! That's me, Patt double "T" Bistro Committee We are again meeting to review ARC applications. Meetings will be held by teleconference. Applications are available at The Lodge. In order to avoid close contact, Exhibit B submissions (sign off of notification of proposed work by immediate neighbors) will be temporarily suspended. DO NOT DO WORK TO YOUR PROPERTY WITHOUT REQUIRED APPROVALS. If you have any questions regarding these matters, your Architectural Assistant, Maria Donti is available by phone (951) 325- 8188 or e-mail at maria.donti@fsresidential.com. She is not available to speak with you on a walk-in basis at this time. Some items to consider with social distancing might include having windows washed only on the exterior, calling your gardener for any extra work you might want such as shrub trimming or sprinkler repair, and calling a handyman to check your gutters and clean them. Do not over water your landscaping. Water runoff can and does damage our streets. Remember that our homeowners association pays for all street maintenance. The additional cost is ultimately yours. Thank you for helping us keep Four Seasons safe, healthy, and beautiful. Architectural Review Committee
