The Diamond Valley Writers Guild is Hemet's own organization
dedicated to writers and writing. Some members are successful authors
with multiple publishing credits while others are beginners. The
meetings, held at the Hemet Public Library, occurs the fourth Saturday
of every month except for November and December. For the immediate
future, all meetings are held on Zoom. The general meetings usually
include writing tips, market suggestions, and guest speakers. August
is open mic poetry, October is open mic prose. The public is welcome.
At present, the organization has close to 90 members. It also
publishes its own literary magazine Straitjackets, which you can find
at https://www.straitjackets.org. At least four read and critique groups
for writers are connected to the Guild. Lynne Spreen, a resident of Four
Seasons, is the founder of the Guild. If you have any questions, contact

Although The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room MAY still be closed in
June, we are listing the following classes in case normal activities
resume.
Royce Jerman offers "Painting Pals" on Tuesdays from 10 am to
1 pm and "Beading Buddies," on Wednesdays at 10 am to 1 pm in
The Lodge. Please check with Royce as to her schedule at royce742@

Lois Stipp gives classes in "Drawing" on Mondays at 9:30 am and
"Painting with Acrylics and Oils" on Thursdays at 9:30 am. Please
check with Lois as to her summer schedule at calstipp@yahoo.com.
Kathy Anderson offers instruction in "Making Greeting Cards."
The dates are the second Friday of the month from 10 am to 12 pm
and the fourth Thursday of the month from 1 pm to 3 pm. Kathy
requests that you call her at (951) 599-4039 to sign up. There is a $14
fee which includes supplies.
