52 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2020 | RV there yet? Almost! The weather is getting warmer and the restrictions are loosening up. This last week, the hubby and I and our tiny Chihuahua children went on our first RV trip in 3 ½ months (it wasn't RV club related, but all of us were RV club members – the RV Club is a great place to meet people). It was wonderful! We were with seven other rigs, and we all socially distanced outdoors with our refreshments, card and dice games (with plenty of hand sanitizer) and had a great time. We couldn't do all the things we usually do, but it was fantastic just to get out with friends. So, if the current trend holds, and this darn epidemic will quit raining on our RV fun parade, the October trip to Paso Robles, Wine Country RV, will be a GO! We nailed the planning during our trip last week (just so happened the rest of the planning committee was there). There is tons to do in that area: wineries, a beer brewery, fantastic restaurants, a GOAT FARM!!!, golf, wineries, olive farms, distilleries, shopping, sitting outside and enjoying friends, cookouts, games, wine tastings, antique shops, tours at nearby Hearst Castle, exploring nearby Cambria's quaint shops, art galleries, did I mention wineries???, plenty of tour companies, historic buildings – if you can't find something to do, you either just want to sit and relax (which is actually something to do if you think about it) or you just don't want to find something to do. Watch your email for the sign-up sheets. Here are the Sun Lakes RV Club's currently planned activities for the rest of 2020: Oct. 4-9 Wine Country RV at Paso Robles October ?? Pizza Party December ?? Holiday Party Joining the RV club is easy! Call Sandy Alexanian for information at (951) 381-1292. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play to around 2 pm. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly competition, come watch us play.
