52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2020 Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. The Four Seasons Motorcycle Club (MC) is happy to announce that we are once again riding on Thursdays. Shortly after the pandemic was declared in March, the club decided to suspend the Thursday rides in the interest of social distancing. However, now that the county is slowly allowing certain activities to get back to normal, we have decided it's time to get back in the saddle. Still, we are being cautious; there is no handshaking, we are keeping our distance when we take breaks and we continue to wear masks when appropriate. Our first Thursday ride was through Joshua Tree National Park. We were very fortunate to get that ride in before the hot summer weather. Another Thursday ride took us up to Big Bear. The following week we headed out to Julian and more recently we went on a very scenic ride through the Santa Rosa Plateau. On a more somber note, Howard Lyon recently announced that he is retiring from motorcycling riding. Howard is a charter member of the Four Seasons MC and it was always a joy to have him on our weekly and multi-day rides. All motorcycle riders know that at some point in their life it's probably best to stop riding. We all just hope that, like Howard, we too will recognize when that time comes. We admire Howard for making that call and we wish him the best. Hey Howard, we will miss you on the road good friend! On a brighter side, Tim Mixon is back to being one of our regular Thursday riders after taking an extended break. Welcome back Tim! If you ride, we invite you to check out the Four Seasons MC. We are just a fun group all sharing the same love of motorcycle riding regardless of the type of motorcycle. On any weekly ride you will see a mixed bag of full blown touring machines, adventure bikes, sport bikes and trikes. We head out from The Lodge parking lot on Thursdays promptly at 9 am for a day ride. These day rides are generally 150 to 200 miles with a stop for lunch. Additionally, we go on a few multi-day rides every year; the next one will be a ride to Oregon in September. If you have any questions about the MC, we would love to hear from you.
