| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2020 | 11 Social Committee The Social Committee would like to introduce Roxie Snider, Co-Treasurer: I was born in Lancaster, California and grew up in San Diego. I attended San Diego City College earning an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Soon after, I married my first husband and moved to Pensacola, Florida. My husband was in the U.S. Navy. During his tour we lived in Lemoore, CA and finally Jacksonville, Florida. While in Lemoore I was able to work on base as a government contractor providing curriculum for the F/A- 18 Pilot and Maintenance Training Programs. This program was transferred along with our squadron to Jacksonville where I continued working in this position. My husband and I eventually divorced but I continued to live in Florida until 1996. In 1993 I decided to work in the public sector for Martha White Foods until the company was sold and moved out of state. This was a turning point for me. I decided to move back home to San Diego and finish my education. I attended National University and received a master's degree in Education in 1999. I began my teaching profession in Poway Unified at Rancho Bernardo High in 1998, but knew my heart was at the elementary level. In 1999 I began working for Hemet Unified and retired June 4, 2019. I taught 3rd, 2nd, and for the last 15 years of my career Kindergarten… my love. I met my husband Kevin, also a teacher in 2002 and married in 2003. I have a son from my first marriage and Kevin has two beautiful daughters who have given us four precious grandchildren. Together we enjoy traveling and have enjoyed many wonderful trips through the years. We moved into Four Seasons in 2012 and couldn't be more thankful that we did! Kevin enjoys golfing (which I have also begun) and I love attending the fitness classes offered in our community. I am currently active on the Social Committee as Co-Treasurer and have recently learned how to play mahjong. For me it's true and so simple… all I really need to know I learned in kindergarten! Share, say you're sorry when you hurt someone, wash your hands before eating, sing, dance, draw, paint and nap some every day. Learn some and think some and don't forget to look out for each other. Don't be afraid to wonder, and remember the Dick and Jane books? The first big word we learned was LOOK! Remembering these simple things helps keep me grounded and aware of what really is important in life. Come join in on the fun this month, decorate your golf cart with red, white and blue showing your patriotic spirit. The Social Committee is sponsoring a Fourth of July Golf Cart parade, with carts assembling at the front of The Lodge by the big fountain at 8:30 am. The parade will begin at 9 am. The route is published in this issue of the Herald. We will be practicing social distancing, and masks are recommended. If you are not participating in the parade cheer the carts on at curb side or in your driveway. Let's make a lot of noise for the birth of our country. Please remember that masks and social distancing will be expected for this event. Let's keep Four Seasons Hemet safe — and happy!
