22 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2020 |
Art League
Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
Stop counting the months and
crossing days off your calendars.
You'll feel so much better if you use
your time to read a good book or
even write your own book. That is
what the Sun Lakes Creative Writers group has been doing. We took
a one page intro to a story titled Bad Movie, and passed it around
within the group. Each person added a page to this continuing story
until it was complete. This was kind of like the old whispering a
secret around the circle thing. No one knew what came before and
no one knew where the story was headed; that is until the end.
The writers group consists of folks who love to write. Some are
experienced while others use the group
to help them with their own projects.
The group has its poets, non-fiction
writers, humorists and fiction writers;
all are seriously interested in the craft
of writing. During normal times we meet in the Sun Lakes Main
Clubhouse Multipurpose Room at 3 pm on the first Monday of each
month plus 3 pm on the third Wednesday. The virus has shaken our
schedule up a bit, actually a lot. If you would like to be informed
of when our meetings will finally escape the quarantine and begin
again Email your email address to rlswriter@verizon.net… or do it
the old fashioned way and call Roger Smith at (951) 769-2808.

The Art League will not be having any meetings or classes until
further notice, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the closings of
the clubhouses. If there are any changes or new plans to report, the
members will be notified by email or telephone.
