12 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2020 | We're in the heat of the summer but even more so than usual you will find us in our homes, staying safe. I do see a lot of residents in the mornings and evenings walking which is a great outlet from shelter-in-place. And I hear so many good stories of Sun Lakers seeking to help other residents who need help with shopping, warm meals, someone to talk with — keep up the good work! We live in a wonderful community. Remember the latest updates on community activities as well as pandemic rules can be found on Good Day Sun Lakes at Channel 97, Gooddaysunlakes@gmail.com, the corresponding website, as well as the Good Day Sun Lakes Facebook page. The "News in a Flash" segment on Channel 97 can be especially educational. Don't forget Sunlakesc.com for official government updates as well as info from Administration. When you try to organize your day, you may wish to check for the channel 97 program guide which can be found in the Lifestyles magazine as well as on Sunlakescc.com. I hope you got to see the video of the July Fourth golf cart and float parade which showed both a tremendous talent in decorating and a lot of Sun Lakes enthusiasm! I'd like to especially remind the sports clubs such as Golf, Tennis, Bocce, Bowling and others to please submit the results of your tournaments, or other club news, to Gooddaysunlakes@gmail.com so we can highlight these events on TV and Facebook. Any other Sun Lakes clubs can also submit information such as meeting dates, news, or special events to the same email address. We hope to see you all out-and-about, enjoying summer activities, soon! Sun Lakes Advisory Committee Reports We are happy to see more Advisory Committees submitting articles about the important work they are doing in Sun Lakes. Our goal is to have all active Advisory Committees share their news here each month. Thank you in advance for everyone's participation! What surprises await us this month? Hopefully, they will be good surprises, with positive happenings and a move back to "normal." We are grateful for our wonderful Sun Lakes community and are anxious to have the activities and amenities return for our enjoyment. Volunteers are part of what makes our village so great. Have you thought about joining one of the Advisory Committees? The Lifestyles Advisory Committee meets monthly to edit and proof items submitted for publication in the magazine. Volunteer interest applications can be found on the sunlakescc.com website under the "forms" heading. On the same website, you can learn about this and all the committees. This section contains charters, meeting schedules and meeting minutes for each committee. It is not too early to begin thinking about serving on a Committee for 2021. Thank you for your interest. Lifestyles Advisory Communications Bingo Advisory Our committee is very anxious to provide Bingo again as soon as possible. But unfortunately, we don't have a date for reopening. And as you know, our state is beginning the tedious process of reopening, but social distancing will probably continue for sometime to come. Be assured that we are prepared to welcome you back as the guidelines will allow. Just remember that when we return, we will have lots of cash prizes and door prizes to win! Until then, stay well and safe, save your Bingo money, and brings lots of friends when we get back together again to play. Any questions? Call Toni at (951) 769-4579 or Karen at (951) 797-3817.
