40 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2020 Country Line Dancing COVID-19 has really changed our lives. Who would have thought when it started in March that we would still be isolating at home in August? Even in this wonderful community it has put a stop to many of our social activities. Some day we will look back and think it wasn't so bad, but for now, it has really put a crimp in our activities. So now that we have cleaned every room and sorted most of our stuff, it is time to start moving again. Although dancing in The Lodge has been severely limited to 20 people per class (including instructors), I have started classes again with social distancing and masks. For now, I am limiting classes to those people who have been in my classes in the past year. For the foreseeable future, I will not be starting a new very beginner class. Even if you cannot participate in your favorite activities, you need to get some movement in your life. The easiest and cheapest exercise is walking. If you live uphill, drive down to a flat area and walk those streets. Start slow if you haven't been walking and gradually increase how long or how far you walk. You will be surprised at how much better you will feel both physically and mentally. Keep reading the Breeze each month to see what new activities are opening. Eventually, I hope to see you on the dance floor again. Take care and stay safe. ~ Martha Franck, (714) 345-8588 Let's Dance! We're back! The Let's Dance group was excited to return to the Ballroom in July. As you can see by the pictures, we are practicing social distancing with only 20 people allowed on the dance floor and all are wearing masks…. but we can dance! It has been wonderful to welcome four new couples to our beginner class, as we danced the Rumba. Please know we are anxious for the day we can open up our classes to everyone and we will announce any changes in the Daily Report. We are looking forward to learning the Cha Cha in August. Cha Cha is a fun, lively dance with so many ways to express yourself. Many of the same patterns we learned in Rumba apply to Cha Cha. We start out at a slower pace so everyone can do it. We meet on Monday nights from 6 to 7 pm for Beginners and Newcomers and 7 to 8 pm for Intermediate and Advanced. For now, we must limit our classes to 20 people on the floor, including our professional instructors. The cost is $10 per person. For information, contact Puring or Gary Stifter at (951)922-8333, or purings@verizon. net and watch the Daily Report for any updates. ~ Sue Condurachi Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
