This the perspective of the artist of the month Denise
Treacy:
Joining the Mixed Media Art class was the most
intimidating yet rewarding decision I've made since
moving to the Four Seasons. In the short time I've been
attending, I have learned several techniques including
pencil sketching, water colors, acrylic, and water based
oil painting. In this process I've discovered a passion for
drawing with pencils I never expected. Our instructor, Rob
Kelman, challenges us to go out of our comfort zone with
encouragement and guidance. The end result is a piece of
art that you didn't realize you were capable of creating. You
learn to look at nature with a different point of view and
suddenly everything you see becomes a potential subject to
paint or draw. Becoming a part of this art community has
been a blessing. The classes offer an opportunity to learn
new techniques along with endless support. The Mixed
Media Art class provides a fun environment filled with
friends who appreciate and share in each other's talents,
no matter your talent level.
Mixed Media Arts
Classes are Mondays 10 am to 12 pm and/or Wednesdays 6 to 8 pm. There is a nominal $5 fee per person, per session.
