Fishing Club I finally got to do a little fishing this summer. I went to the Lake Havasu fishing derby on June 20. This time I was lucky and finally won some money for my fishing skills. I brought home $178. I also went to my favorite catfish lake and was able to catch a couple of nice fish. I had eight bites but was able to only land two. We had a great time and my fishing partner, Dennis, was able to bring in one catfish. Fisherman's Retreat is a nice lake to go to because you can get there in 15 minutes. The best time to fish is at night. I got all my fish after 8 pm. I am not really a good photographer so I did not get any pictures of the fish that I caught. Instead I had my wife take a picture of me in my new striper hat. Maybe this month will be the break-out month and we will be able to catch some real nice fish. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember to wear a mask. The fish don't care but the guy next to you just might. ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@ gmail.com Bereavement Group If you have suffered a loss, please come join us. Seasoned Solos If you are single and enjoy a variety of activities, then Seasoned Solos just might be the group for you. At each meeting we discuss what is going on in the Inland Empire and plan activities, from local lunches and dinners to excursions to presidential libraries, the Redlands Bowl, Metro Link trips into LA, and the beach train to San Juan Capistrano. There's not much that we won't consider doing. We meet on the first Friday of each month in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room at 6 pm. For further information, call Joyce at (951) 850-3055. ~ Joyce Olson
