24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2020 | One of the surprises at Four Seasons is the long-running SASY class. We have been meeting for over a decade. The early hour leaves some would-be strength trainees asking if we might start earlier. We are now able to meet in The Lodge Ballroom – properly distanced and requiring hand washing at the conclusion of the class. If you don't strength train now, come join the fun. We enjoy this time together and humor keeps our spirits high. At the present time, we cannot stop for our coffee break in the Bistro but we are hoping that this is short-lived. We meet in The Lodge Ballroom at 7:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday. We are a FREE class. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at (765-7112), Char Weakley at (926-2599) or Joyce Kerns at (325-8840). Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) All our exercise classes, offered by Shannon Ramsey, are now "Silver Sneakers," "Silver & Fit" and "Optum" certified. That means that if you have one of these programs as a benefit of your supplemental Medicare insurance, you can take these classes for FREE! If you do not have this benefit, you can still take the classes for $4/class or purchase a punch card for $35/10 classes (which can be used on all classes offered). All classes are offered with lower impact and chair options. Come try these classes. Shannon's certifications include AFAA, AEA, SPIN, RIPPED, ZUMBA, Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit, Optum, and CPR/First Aid. exercise with a certified instructor "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club Hot, hot, hot…It's August, what do we expect? However, it is still important to continue exercising. If you want to escape the heat, try joining us in The Lodge Ballroom for the "Walk Fit" class. The air is on, feet are moving and classmates are having a good time together. It is so great to be back together again. So, grab a friend, put on some comfortable shoes and try us out. The class consists of eight different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" dvds. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the dvds incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome! The class is free and we meet Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 7:45 to 8:45 am in The Lodge Ballroom. For more information, contact Karen Tuvim at (316) 260-0847. Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Meditate with a Certified Instructor Learn to meditate with a Chopra Center Certified Instructor, Lucia K Wolfer, using the timeless practice of Primordial Sound Meditation. Taught in four sessions, over a period of three to four days for approximately two hours each and in small groups, the sessions will be held both online starting in the fall and in-person, at The Lodge whenever all COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Two levels of instruction will be offered every month: Meditation for Beginners and Meditation for Intermediate Students. Among the multitude of benefits, practicing Primordial Sound Meditation will help you to: manage stress and anxiety, improve your relationships, create inner peace, enhance your sleep patterns, lower your blood pressure, connect more deeply with your true authentic self/spirit and enhance your creativity. Practiced for thousands of years, meditation is a tool for rediscovering the body's own inner intelligence. Primordial Sound Meditation uses individually selected sounds of nature, called mantras, to disconnect from the activity of life while weaving silence and stillness into our mind and body to create a life of greater fulfillment. It is a journey to the center of our being, a journey to emotional freedom and the journey to the reawakening of our unconditioned self. Your personal mantra will be presented to you during Lesson two. For more information about online and in-person teachings of the four sessions, please email Lucia K Wolfer, luciakwolfer@gmail.com. She is in the process of developing lists for both the online and offline groups and charges $150 for the four sessions (a 62 percent discount off the standard rate) for ALL Four Seasons residents whether you choose online or offline instruction.
