"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" The Sun is Shining Here: We are now moving into the August time frame with thoughts of getting back to some normalcy. The Lodge has opened to some activities with restrictions. We urge everyone to adhere to the new rules for use of the facilities. (As you might note, the photo above is not a recent one. No one is wearing a mask!) Team Sunshine is still spreading sunshine with our Curbside Conversations. A small group has been organized to visit those who are feeling lonely or overwhelmed. With the current spike in COVID-19 cases, those who were doing okay may now be feeling new stress. If you would like a visit or you know of someone who might appreciate such a visit, let us know. As always, masks are worn and safe distancing is practiced. Bistro meal deliveries are being revisited. Delivery and pick up of medical equipment has been suspended for the time being. A Kindness Nudge: If you have someone who has been especially kind and caring during this difficult time, take a minute and recognize them with a Kindness Award. You will find the Kindness Cards at the front desk. Team Sunshine will recognize those who "reached out" to you. Thank you! Celebrations/Memorials: We were saddened with the news that Janet Hester, beloved Lodge Attendant, passed away. Her service to the Four Seasons community spanned a decade and more. She was an amazing woman who tackled every task with a smile. We carry her in our hearts. We don't always know of all the passings in Four Seasons. Our condolences go to those families who have lost a loved one. Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. Give Marietta a call at (951) 325-8348 and she'll give you details. Also, a prayer request box is located in the Multipurpose Room. Closing Thoughts: "Patience is not just about waiting for something… it's about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting." ~ Joyce Meyer 20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2020 | Team Sunshine Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. The show must go on! And our shows will… eventually! Please look for our rescheduling of Grand Night of Musical Theater. We sincerely hope you and your family stay safe during these turbulent times. We will soon see you all around the community. ~ Chris Pounders Players Theater TGIF At this point in time, we are hopeful that things will start to open up slowly. That being said, we do not anticipate that TGIF/Karaoke will be able to resume until perhaps 2021. The format we have does not allow for sharing food. Also, we would need to maintain the distance required under current standards and the wearing of masks is still recommended. We want to be cautious and not take any risks for our residents. We hope you will rejoin us when it is safe. Thank you. Your TGIF/Karaoke Committee. Book Club Our book for August is The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. Due to virus and everyone's safety, I'll be hosting a Zoom meeting. Hope all of you interested in good discussions will join us. The day before meeting I'll send you a password. Any questions call me at (951) 926-6336 or vhitt@hotmail.com. ~ Vicki Allen-Hitt
