FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2020 5 UNDERAGE GUESTS From time to time there are reports of under-age persons living with homeowners within the community. The Board takes these issues very seriously; if we let under-age people live here, it can jeopardize the age-qualified status of the community. If you know of under-age people living with an owner, please document and report it. All reports are confidential unless we have to go to court to enforce the governing documents. A homeowner can have a guest who is under-age (under 45 years old) stay in their home for 60 calendar days in the year. COVID-19 Please subscribe to the Daily Report or check our website (www.fourseasonsbeuamont. org) for up to date information regarding amenities opening and any guidelines that correspond with those openings. GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT By Eric Zarr The year was 2010. It was summer, and Four Seasons Beaumont was growing as happy folks moved into this paradise, dreams of glorious retirement years swirling through their heads. Friends were made, groups and classes were established, activities were booked, and all of this was documented in a magazine which was written and edited by some of their own, who established a Communications Committee. But clouds were forming and darkness was threatening, and the Communications Committee members were becoming frantic. The publisher, the publisher. Oh no! Little did the happy residents know what was happening to their magazine, what was about to befall their monthly source of information and entertainment. The publisher couldn't perform as promised, and although much time and effort was spent trying to bring it all together, it was obvious that failure was imminent. But what was that light, a slender beam which was slicing through the clouds and beginning to disperse them? Was that a smiling face? Was that a woman - no, two - striding firmly onto the land? Was that a sample magazine being thrust into the Communications Committee meeting? Were they publishers? Was the magazine going to be saved? Well, what do you know? The clouds were gone, the darkness disappeared. The birds were singing and peace was descending over the HOA. Image Up Advertising and Design, Courtney Taylor and Stacey Parr, had saved the day! The date - August 10, 2010 - will forever be honored. And this year, 2020, marks the 10th anniversary of that historic day. For 10 years Image Up has provided strength, knowledge, ability, creativity, occasional delightful quirkiness, and ongoing friendship to the members of the Communications Committee, now the Communications Board. We thank you. We rely on you. And we look forward to many more years of alliance. Image Up, Courtney and Stacey, you're the best! Delivery discontinuation of the Record Gazette and Retail-Me- Not has caused misinformation to swirl around the community. The Board of Directors did not arbitrarily suspend the deliveries of these two commercial products and were enforcing our Community Guidelines. The guidelines state that no solicitation of any kind may be distributed by residents, homeowners, their guests, or any other outside commercial vendor. This includes commercial and advertising material. According to the publisher, the Record Gazette has only 15 subscribers in the Four Seasons community of 1,853. That's less than 1 percent of the homes. The remainder came to homes as unsolicited deliveries. Retail-Me-Not was initially delivered by the US Postal System. Financial cut-backs forced the USPS to stop delivering this advertising flyer and distribution was assumed by the same organization that provided the Record Gazette. Residents then began seeing this unsolicited advertising on their driveway. Options to replace the delivery of both publications to each residence were offered — deliver only to subscribers or place publications at The Lodge. The publisher elected to mail the Record Gazette to subscribers and the publisher of Retail-Me-Not elected to place the advertising flyer at The Lodge. FirstService Residential employees provide copies of this flyer to the Summit and Courts. Residents are welcome to stop by any of the facilities to pick up a copy. For additional information, please see Community Guidelines, Page 37, item 1. Everyone received a copy of the guidelines when moving in. An updated copy is available on our website at fourseasonsbeaumont.org. Record Gazette Delivery Discontinued 10 Year Breezeiversary!
