| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2020 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA There are a couple of important legal items that are underway, or about to be. 2021 Budget: Several months ago, the Board of Directors came up with the idea to form an Ad-Hoc Budget Committee. The committee was formed and began working on the 2021 budget. The committee is comprised of members from the Finance, Landscape, Facilities, and Access committees, the Board and management. They began the process of formulating next year's budget. They are also reviewing the reserve study component listing. After their review is completed, any recommendations will be forwarded to the Board for discussion. The Board will be reviewing the finalized draft of the budget and if there are no issues, they will approve the annual budget and policy statement at the October Board meeting. COVID-19: Who would have guessed we would still be dealing with the global pandemic more than six months after the safety protocols from the County Health officers and the CDC were issued? Wearing masks, socially distancing, and the washing of your hands is now our "new normal." We are committed to the protection of not only the staff, and all residents who enter the Lodge. Masks are required to enter the Lodge and, because we are monitoring compliance at the pool area and other locations, please make sure you wear your mask after you are finished swimming or using the spa. Unfortunately, at the time I am writing this, guests are still not allowed in the building. Management and the Board continuously monitor the Riverside County Health Dept. press releases for any changes that may affect the community. A letter to residents was emailed last month informing you that there were two residents who were confirmed to have tested positive. There is a point in time where the County Health Office begins contact tracing and, if you get a call from them, all information you provide is confidential. After the letter went out, residents called the Lodge and asked us who tested positive. The answer is NO! Let me repeat that. NO. Community Atmosphere: I'm sure all of us have noticed that there are so many things going on around us, in the news and social media that seem to be so volatile and negative. One of those issues is our upcoming elections. There are many of you who have passionate opinions on both sides of the political arena and, as we get closer to election day, the climate will probably get even more heated. There are some residents who are challenging our rules and standards regarding the hanging of certain flags. The flags signify a resident's preference of who they support. Unfortunately, there is some conflict between our R&Rs, the "Civil Code" (the State's Governing Documents) and the Hemet Municipal Code. The Board and management are navigating through this and I'm only bringing this up to urge all of you to count your blessings and be considerate and respectful to your neighbors. We live in the greatest country in the world and many paid the price so you can have the freedom to express your views. Please do it in a civilized way. A couple of final reminders. Obey the posted speed limit, please pick up after your pets, be considerate of your fellow neighbors… and wear your masks! Have a peaceful Labor Day!
