| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2020 | 7
September 11 marks a tragic day in U.S. history, but the date has
also been chosen to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist
attacks of September 11, 2001.
On Dec. 18, 2001, President George W. Bush officially designated
September 11th as Patriot Day.
Driving around the Four Seasons at Hemet Community you
can see many American flags being displayed proudly. The high
temperatures and windy afternoons can cause these flags to become
tattered. We often take our surroundings for granted and don't notice
the wear and tear our flags have endured. Please take a moment to
inspect your flags. If you need to dispose of your flag you can bring
it to the Lodge and a representative will deliver them to the VFW
for proper disposal. Let's make a point to fly a fresh flag in honor of
Patriot Day.
