| THE COLONY NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2020 | 11
The Colony Kennel Club would like to welcome our new
residents and their beautiful dogs. It seems that perhaps next
spring we may be able to do our traditional activities, the Pet
Expo and the Patriotic Pup and Cart parade. While you are
confined to home, there are some urgent matters that all Colony
residents should consider as our election for new Board members
approaches. We are asked these questions often by new residents,
and we hope as you vote you will be sure of what the candidates
will do for our pets.
The first question on everyone's mind is why doesn't The
Colony have a dog park? This question has been asked for many
years, but it is now very obvious with many new dogs and all of
the grass being removed. The Kennel Club has big plans, so keep
asking the question, especially of the candidates.
The second question is, will the Roundup/Ranger Pro being
sprayed every day somewhere in The Colony hurt my dog or cat?
The answer is yes. A number of dogs have died, and people can
be affected as well. The Kennel Club has been pushing for more
safe measures for over three years, so help us by asking the tough
questions.
All residents want a safe and healthy community to enjoy.
Making The Colony more pet friendly and nontoxic would help.
Think before you vote! Please continue to be safe and keep your
pets healthy. ~ The Kennel Club Steering Committee
