20 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2020 | Knitters & Fiber Artists Sew What? Club We're all so busy decorating our homes for fall. I can't wait to see all the new finished quilts. Have you tried the Jelly Roll Rug ? So fun and a great way also to use your own scraps. No word yet of any changes. For more information, call Jan Hamm at (951) 212-6799 or Vivian Myrdahl at (636) 221-0873. Unfortunately, I have nothing new to report about our meetings. We are still hopeful we can get back together before the end of the year, but that doesn't look too promising. We most likely will have to cancel our Holiday dinner party as well. Under normal circumstances, we meet on Mondays from 1to 3 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. We each work individually on our own projects. The second Monday of every month, instead of meeting in the Clubhouse, we go out to lunch at a local restaurant and celebrate whoever is having a birthday that month. Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768 if you have any questions about the Scrapbooking group. There is no fee to join. Sun Lakes Quilters Scrapbooking Currently we are not meeting but when facilities open… We enjoy a potluck the last Monday of each month. Join the fun! What? A gathering of like-minded craftspeople When? Every Monday afternoon, 12:30 till ??? Rain or shine Where ? North Clubhouse Why? No prior experience needed. We have the use of two kilns and there is a potters wheel for those who wish to learn or have prior experience. Our wonderful instructor Bear is there to teach, help or advise. He has years of experience and is a certified instructor. We do hand building and wheel throwing. The cost is $60 per month for materials and includes clay, glazes, tools, and firing. All you need to do is bring yourself. Try out a new hobby with very little expense and no new "stuff " to store. Info., Camille, spud5477@att.net. We don't have any updates to give or any idea when we will be able to gather again (we are thinking after the first of the year), or what restrictions we will be under. So until then, know that you are all in my thoughts and I pray that you are doing ok keeping yourself safe. I know our community is missing out on our donations, so hopefully when we are allowed to start up again you will all be ready to jump right in to help. God bless us and continue to guide us during this time. Questions? Give me a call or email. Gail Wright at (951) 797- 3589 or Gail.Wright513@gmail.com. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
