The President Cup Qualifying match play event started on Aug. 10 with 32 players divided into two Flights, A & B. The Final Round of the President Cup was held on Sept. 2 and the winners were as follows: Flight A: Gary Headding, Winner; Steve Chung, Runner-Up Flight B: Randy Halbmaier, Winner; Tom Parkes, Runner-Up Congratulations! Men's Club tournaments for October are the Pinehurst 2 Man Championship on Wed., Oct. 7 and the Four Man Scramble (Pick Your Team) on Sat., Oct. 24. These tournaments can be a lot of fun and a chance to earn scrip for flight gross/net winners even with the COVID golf guidelines. We are looking for new members to join us. The dues are $70 ($34 goes towards men's club dues and $36 pays for maintaining your S.C.G.A. / GHIN handicap). Membership forms are available in the Main Golf Pro Shop. Men's Golf The Executive is an 18-Hole course with six challenging par fours and lots of water. We have a tournament on the third Friday of the month followed by a catered lunch in the North Clubhouse, however, there will be no lunches until the resolution of COVID-19 pandemic. The Executive Men's Club meets on Friday mornings at 8 am for an 8:30 am shotgun start. The Executive Men's Club was able to hold our annual Club championship. It is a two-day tournament held on Aug. 21 and Aug. 28. Following the two days there was a tie for the Gross and the Net Championships. A sudden death playoff was held on Sept. 3. Congratulations to the 2020 Club Champion Ric Dalton and the 2020 Eagle Champion (Low Net) Jack McElwain. There is Four-Man Scramble Pick Your Team tournament scheduled for Sept. 18. All levels of golfers are welcome in the club. COME JOIN US! Membership dues are only $30 per year. New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop or on the EMGC website. Saturday Morning Golf Are you still working and looking for a weekend golf option? Are you interested in sharpening your short game skills? Do you enjoy having a relaxed game of golf? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may wish to join our Saturday Morning Golf Group. We play on the Executive Course. Our membership includes men and women with a large range of handicaps. Our members share a love of the game. We have shotgun starts. Most of the year, October through June, the check in time is 8:30 am with a 9 am shotgun. In the summer, July through September, the check in time is 8 am with a 8:30 am shotgun. We hold monthly tournaments, an annual Club Championship competition, and quarterly dinners. Membership application forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual dues are only $15.
