Oct. 5: Virtual Craft Boutique Begins Oct. 23, 4 pm: Quarantine Happy Hour: Halloween Edition Oct. 30, 9 am: Blood Drive (Appointments Required) Oct. 31, 5 to 8 pm: Spirit Brew & BBQ Oct. 31, 7:30 pm: Golf Cart Parade Ghoulish Fun Ahead FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2020 27 By Cindy Graves Happy October — pandemic paradigm month number eight. We have several fun events for you to look forward to this month. Our ever popular craft boutique is back — with a twist! We put together the first-ever Four Seasons Beaumont Virtual Craft Boutique. Each of our resident vendors submitted a one-minute video of their various products and Lodge attendant Justin put them all together in a FSB Shopping Network Virtual Craft Boutique video. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the Activities Corner Blasts will carry the link for you to click on, to view the video of products, their descriptions, prices, and vendor contact information. This should be a fun experiment so enjoy shopping! The Virtual Craft Boutique will run until Nov. 16. The next big event is our Halloween Blood Drive on Friday, Oct. 30 from 9 am to 3 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. The State of California has deemed blood drives an essential service, so we are allowed to have residents come inside at appointment times. Blood is low in California, so if you would like to help by donating, all you have to do is call 1-800-879-4484 and tell the LifeStream representative that you would like an appointment for the Four Seasons of Beaumont Blood Drive on Oct. 30. They will set an appointment for you. They will even text you when it's your turn to come into The Lodge, so you can wait in your cool car in case of a delay. All social distancing precautions will be taken and you will also get a reading of whether you have COVID-19 antibodies or not. If you have any questions about whether you can give blood, here's a brief list of restrictions. Unfortunately, you can not give blood if you currently have any form of cancer, diabetes, heart and lung problems, pregnancy, or HIV/AIDS. Everybody else can make an appointment to help. Thank you ahead of time! On Saturday, Oct. 31 at 5 pm there will be a Halloween Spirit Brew and Barbecue event at The Lodge. This event concept is similar to a slow moving Disneyland ride like the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. Residents will remain in their vehicles and slowly go through a short maze in the parking lot, with several scary displays set up and pirates jumping around to entertain the passengers. We will also have fan favorite D.J. Tracy Crow, "The D.J. of Death," playing festive music as residents drive through. At the end of the drive- through (behind the Ballroom parking lot) a decorated barbecue shed will be set up where folks can order from a menu that can be viewed the week before the event (see the Activities Corner Blast for details). The ever popular Tap House Station will be offering novelty brews to go with your dinner and for a sweet ending, the Kopper Kettle will be selling yummy themed desserts. At 7:30 pm, there will be a decorated golf cart competition and parade. The Daily Report will give all of the final details so that you can be a part of that. I'm excited about this event and crossing my fingers that you really have a good time! Finally, for November, I will be collecting resident stories about how you are thankful for your adopted pets. If you are willing to share your story, please send it to Cindy.graves@fsresidential.com. I'm going to be working with resident Jeff Shepherd who runs the Ramona Humane Society and we'll be sharing both pictures of animals that need loving homes as well as your stories of how an adopted pet enriched your life here in Four Seasons. I love Thanksgiving and I love giving thanks, especially for my adopted pets. Thank you for contributing to our stories. Have a wonderful October and I look forward to seeing you mask to mask soon!
