The Social Committee met on Sept. 1 to begin our plans for 2021. We set up events through the coming year with the first to be held on Feb. 20, 2021, if we are able to do so. On that date we are planning the Rock 'n Roll #2 with impersonators and dancing. Naturally, nothing is set in stone at this point but we are hopeful nonetheless. As we get closer to the dates we will give you all the details. In the meantime, continue to stay safe because your Social Committee team is ready to get back to doing whatever we can to bring our social group activity lives back. Take care! ~ Joyce Hogue, jhogue54@gmail.com Social Committee FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2020 25 Hi everyone, my name is Patti Pitts and this October marks the first anniversary of our move to California and Four Seasons. I started walking with the Landscape Committee right away, in part, because: 1. We were so impressed with the beauty of Four Seasons every time we drove into the complex. It is only matched by the friendliness of everyone we've met; 2. I wanted to learn about the plants of Southern California that make Four Seasons so inviting; 3. I wanted to give back to the community that has made us feel right at home. I hope that many of you will consider this and join the Landscape Committee on one or more of our Friday morning walks. It's a great way to really see our community and find out about the responsibilities of the Landscape Committee. Please contact Shannon Alfaro Shelton in the main office, if you would like to walk with us and find out more about the oversight that the committee has to keep Four Seasons healthy and beautiful. This October also marks the start of a three-year cycle of pruning more than 7,500 trees in Four Seasons' public areas. Our trees help make Four Seasons the outstanding community that it is. They offer us solace and beauty even in the time of a pandemic; properly pruned trees will ensure that our gorgeous community continues to be so for years to come. ~ Patti Pitts, pattijpitts@gmail.com Landscape Committee Check with your committee chair to confirm meeting place, date, and time. The Safety Committee met via Zoom on Sept. 1 and heard more homeowner input on speeding on Four Seasons Circle. The limit is 30 mph and there's no parking anywhere on the circle. A complete traffic survey will be carried out in the near future, so Beaumont police officers will be able to come into Four Seasons and issue tickets for speeding and "rolling stops" anywhere in the community. The crosswalk on Green Creek, linking Trail C, was also discussed and the committee recommended that a "Stop for Pedestrians" sign be placed in the middle of the crosswalk as some drivers are speeding along that street without regard to people crossing. Other topics discussed were the gap under the Breckenridge gate and deterioration of the footings and wood on the bridge across the creek on Trail A. Eric Rosenkrantz, the committee's FirstService representative, is looking into remedial action that can be taken to address those issues. If you would like to participate in our next meeting on Oct. 6, please email eric.rosenkrantz@fsresidential.com for details. In the meantime, please slow down, look out for our neighbors walking around the community, and practice stopping at the crosswalks. After all, at this point in our lives, we should be in less of a hurry. ~ Geoffrey Wilson, sw072153@aol.com Safety Committee
