12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2020 | YOU SHOULD NOT FLY THE AMERICAN FLAG if you do not respect the flag! If your flag is tattered, torn, faded, and/or not lit at night, you are not respecting the flag. These are basic standards for respectful flag-flying etiquette per national standards as well as the Architectural Standards and Regulations for our Four Seasons community. If you are not meeting these requirements, please replace your flag and be certain that it is lighted or removed at night. Now you know… and so do your neighbors. Please be aware that if you have a satellite dish attached to your home, it is required to be removed if you are no longer using satellite service. Satellite providers typically will not remove a previously installed satellite dish, however they can be removed by a local handyman. You can improve the appearance of your home by removing old satellite dishes. DO NOT DO WORK TO YOUR PROPERTY WITHOUT THE REQUIRED APPROVALS. Again, some homeowners have proceeded with expensive work on their properties without gaining the required approvals. Unfortunately, they have used products that do not meet the minimum requirements of our Architectural Standards and Regulations. This may involve expensive reworking of their projects to meet the minimum standards met by other homeowners who did receive approvals prior to initiating their projects. Your neighbors, Nextdoor.com, your friends, or a member of the ARC are NOT THE PROPER SOURCE to determine whether you need an Architectural Review Committee approval. The only correct source to answer any questions regarding these issues is your Architectural Assistant, Maria Donti. IF IN DOUBT, ASK. You can make an appointment to speak with Maria at The Lodge at (951) 325-8188 or e-mail maria.donti@fsresidential.com. Please respect her time. Due to her heavy staff work load, she is not necessarily available to speak with you on a walk-in basis. Thank you for helping us keep our Four Seasons community safe, quiet, and beautiful. Welcome to a new month; hopefully October will grace us with cooler temps and clearer skies. September really kicked us good with triple digit temperatures, and way too many fires providing ashes, smoke, and unhealthy air. Our meeting on Sept. 1 was spent discussing the Bistro Committee Charter, exploring ways to adapt a more updated policy and wordage. We are also developing a much needed new invoice form with advance deposit information for outside booked events. I'm happy to announce that with more members aboard the Bistro Committee, we can now start using a liaison rotation system to help with booking the food plan for all future events. Even though it seems forever since I've booked any event, hopefully we can be back in full swing and will enjoy the holiday gatherings to which we are accustomed. I know Margie and her group are plotting ideas for New Years Eve. They are trying to be prepared no matter what gets thrown at them… be sure they will have something planned! Again, our thanks to the volunteers who deliver meals from the Bistro. After so many months they could use some new volunteers. If you're up to it, check in and volunteer. You'd be so welcome. May we all remain healthy and joyful; this too will run it's course and we will have survived! Amen. That's me, Patt double "T" Bistro Committee Architectural Review Committee Access Control Committee Your Access Control Committee continues to address the speeding concerns and discuss implementation of "traffic calming" measures. As was announced at the August Board of Directors meeting by Access Control Co-Chair Tim Taylor, the committee has been focused on issues involving speeders, stop sign violations, and the concern that our Four Seasons residents follow safe driving habits. The following information is from the DMV: An 8-sided red STOP sign indicates that you must make a "FULL STOP" whenever you see this sign. 1. Stop at the white line (a wide white line painted on the street) or before entering a crosswalk. 2. If a limit line or crosswalk is not painted on the street, stop before entering the intersection. 3. Check traffic in all directions before proceeding. Many drivers are NOT stopping at these signs. As a private community, we are not exempt. The World Cup gate has been returned to its original close status. New crosswalk markings are being discussed at both at the Beth Page and World Cup intersections on Four Seasons Boulevard. Do you have a concern of speeders in your section of the community? If so, you may wish to complete a form stating your concerns. The form is available from The Lodge Attendants. We will have more information to share in the coming months. Committees are always looking for new members. If you are interested in joining the Access Control Committee, please see a Lodge Attendant for an application. Our committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am. However, due to CDC guidelines, meetings and or meeting locations may change.
