24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2020 | The photo at right is another "blast from the past!" We are meeting in The Lodge Ballroom – properly distanced, masked and hand washing at the conclusion of the class. We also have a telephonic hook-up for those who want to strength train at home. We remain a very social group although, these days, the masks are a hindrance to "clear" communication. At present, our coffee breaks are on patio. We thank the Bistro gals for their great service during trying times. We meet in The Lodge Ballroom at 7:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday. We are a FREE class. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at (951) 765-7112) or Char Weakley at (951) 926-2599. Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) All our exercise classes, offered by Shannon Ramsey, are now "Silver Sneakers," "Silver & Fit" and "Optum" certified. That means that if you have one of these programs as a benefit of your supplemental Medicare insurance, you can take these classes for FREE! If you do not have this benefit, you can still take the classes for $4/class or purchase a punch card for $35/10 classes (which can be used on all classes offered). All classes are offered with lower impact and chair options. Come try these classes. Shannon's certifications include AFAA, AEA, SPIN, RIPPED, ZUMBA, Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit, Optum, and CPR/First Aid. Exercise With A Certified Instructor "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club Happy fall! As I write this, the temperature is 114° outside. Hopefully, the weather is beginning to cool a little. Whatever the weather outside, we are still walking in the comfort of The Lodge Ballroom. We are following the guidelines for protecting each other from COVID-19. At this writing that means wearing masks during class. If you are looking for a fun way to get some aerobic exercise, give "Walk Fit" a try. Walking is one of the healthiest things you can do to maintain a healthy body. The class consists of eight different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" dvds. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome! We meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:45 to 8:45 am in The Lodge Ballroom. Class is free! For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (316) 260-0847. Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Meditate with a Chopra Certified Instructor Learn to meditate with Lucia K Wolfer, luciakwolfer@ gmail.com. Sessions will be conducted individually on Zoom and Lessons 1-4 will be held online starting on Oct. 20. Your personal mantra will be presented to you during Lesson 2. Free monthly group meditations will be available online as well. Meditation is a tool for rediscovering the body's own inner intelligence. Practiced for thousands of years, it's not about forcing the mind to be quiet, it's finding the silence that's already there and making it a part of your daily life. Silence is the birthplace of happiness, creativity and infinite possibilities. From this field of pure potentiality we get our bursts of inspiration, our most intuitive thoughts, and our deep sense of connection to true authentic selves, our spirit. Practicing meditation on a daily basis allows you to weave silence and stillness into your mind and body to create a life of greater compassion and fulfillment. Meditation is a journey to the center of our very being, a journey to emotional freedom, and a journey to the reawakening of our unconditioned self.
