By Tracie Rodgers It is actually fall. Again, I turn to nature to help with the need to be grounded. As the media swirls around us I sit and enjoy the creatures and their instinctive habits. In the spring I was given solace as the birds sang their happy songs across the plaza, through the golf course and into the hills. Now they are collecting and packing up for winter. Life goes on, the creatures aren't caught up in what their neighbor is or isn't doing. Sure it may seem like there are more nuts gathered this year, but they are working together because they know if the storm comes they will need each other. On Oct. 15, Arbor Hospice is offering a small Health Fair in The Lodge parking area. All safety precautions will be practiced; , please remember to practice your distancing and don't gather in groups. This will include a Life Stream Blood Drive and Flu Shots if you missed the first clinic. See the ad on page 21 for all the details. Communicating to the masses has its challenges, even in these technological times with everything at our fingertips. Each week emails go out from The Lodge and Bistro to let you know what is going on. The last few months have definitely brought residents forward who have either never received an email or need to be reconnected. This is a great tool but is only as good as the recipient list. If you would like to be added or have your information updated, please let me know. You can either email me at tracie.rodgers@ fsresidential.com or fill out the form at The Lodge. The Lodge also offers a Resident Directory. This Directory is updated on a quarterly basis. It is available to all residents and it lists all residents in the community who have opted in. The newest edition was printed on Sept. 1 and is available now. The Golf Cart Club is preparing for a Halloween Parade on Oct. 30. These parades have sure helped to keep our spirits up. Please make sure you give them a big round of applause when they go by. As you can imagine, trying to plan the upcoming year of events is a challenge. The Social Committee is eager to get to work as well. They had already worked so hard putting together a great calendar for 2020. This is a group of energetic, creative women with a desire to serve this community. This is also true of the Four Seasons Players; as the disappointment set in that their first play of the year was being canceled, we had no idea it would lead to the whole series. These people dedicate hours and hours of their personal time to share their talents with the community. For the many new residents, all of us here look forward to getting to know you. We invite you to join all the groups, clubs, and classes that are offered. Hopefully you are getting settled into your new community and have everything put in its place soon. I don't think you will have much time to rest in 2021! As for me, I am looking forward to hosting in The Lodge, seeing your smiling eyes, and hearing your happy chatter. As it cools down outside I will day dream of cozy soups and start squirreling away those Christmas presents. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2020 | From Your Activities Director BOARD OF DIRECTORS DAY TIME Planning Session 10/26 11:30a Executive Session 10/28 9a General Session 10/28 1p COMMITTEES Access 10/14 9a Architectural Review 10/5, 19 8:30a Bistro 10/6 10a Emergency Prep 10/26 10a Facilities 10/7, 21 9a Finance 10/15 4p Landscape 10/7 1p Library 10/14 12:30p Social 10/12 9a CLUBS Golf Club Board Mtg 10/14 2p Golf Days T 8a Beginning Line Dance T 3p Intermediate Line Dance T 4p Healthy Living Th 9a SPECIAL EVENTS Health Fair 10/15 10a Food Drive 10/17 10a Pickleball Game Night 10/18 6p Halloween Cart Parade 10/30 6p Exercise Club M, W, F 7:45a SASY T, Th 7:30a Tennis Friends T, Th 8:30a Tennis Mixed Up Doubles W 6:30p Pickleball M, Th, Sat 8a Bocce - Spring Th 9a Shuffleboard - Fall Th 9a Zumba Gold F 10:30a Aqua Fitness M, W, F 8, 9a Cardio & Strength T, Th 9:35a Yoga Flow T, Th 10:30a Strength & Balance M, W 10:30a Meetings Fitness Mr. & Mrs. Rodgers ready for a night around the cul de sac.
