Village Vets
The OHCC Village Vet's is helping to sponsor the 1st Air Naval
Gunfire Liaison Company (1st ANGELICO) at Camp Pendleton. A
portion of the unit is deployed at sea and in foreign countries with
little or no ability to secure personal supplies. On Aug. 14 Kaye
Preston, with the help of neighbors, put together and mailed 13 care
packages to members of the company on overseas duty. We will
continue to send packages after we learn if more and what items are
still needed. You can drop off supplies/checks in open garage or at
front door of Kaye Preston, 5065 Aegina Way.
On Aug. 28, Greg Coffey and David Hefler toured the 1st ANGELICO
compound and met with Major Carlton Allen and SgtMaj Jeremy
Black. While there, we presented a donation to help them rebuild the
Company recreation/day room. We are also looking into the possible
assistance from the Woodchucks and the Art Club with the project.
For many years, Tom Brennan has been assisting all OHCC
residents with American flag replacements and installation. The
Village Vets do this as a non-profit courtesy for Ocean Hills. We
are asking for volunteers to take on this worthwhile endeavor. If
interested, please contact Tom Brennan or David Hefler.
Our Holiday Party will not be held this year due to COVID-19
meeting restrictions. As soon as things get back to normal, we hope
to have a party.
