Golf Course Irrigation and Well Conversion By Don Lopez In our last report, we mentioned that we would have to prepare our own contract. We finished writing the contract four weeks ago; it has been reviewed by VDLA and revised slightly. VDLA completed their performance specifications, 33 pages, which the Golf Course Renovation Committee reviewed and revised slightly. The completed contract and performance specifications were furnished to our counsel and Candyl-Morgan Golf concurrently. We have received counsel's comments and will make some minor adjustments to the document. I would like to provide some idea of a timetable going forward. You all know this project has many moving parts, a good deal of which we cannot control completely. Therefore, any estimate I make will be subject to change immediately. However, I feel any information is better than no information. We expect to receive Candyl Golf 's comments on the contract, and their Exhibits and Attachments soon. We hope to finish the contract in October. That would mean Candyl Golf could start their Construction Documents in November, which is a 90-day process. If that is true, we could start construction on the front nine in February of 2021. That would enable us to hold a Town Hall Meeting in February- March of 2021, during which we could review both the Golf Course Renovation and the Well Conversion Alternate. We would then be able to hold a Capital Improvement Election for the Well Conversion Alternate in April of 2021. Obviously, I am counting on being able to gather by February-March of 2021, if we have the approval of our health agencies, one more of the many moving parts we cannot control. We could start construction on the back nine Renovation and Well Conversion in July-August after the grass has grown back in on the front nine. We could start construction on the back nine sooner than July-August, if we close the front nine for a short time, while the grass finishes growing in on the front nine. We can decide on those options after we meet the other milestones mentioned at the start of this article. As I have stated many times, all these dates are estimates (objectives) to be determined as we go forward. At least you have an outline as of today. Thank all of you for your support of this critical project. | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2020 | 7
