SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | OCTOBER 2020 13 Dictated to Mom by Max Rossetti, Pupper Resident It seems that my Mom writes a lot of Pet of the Month pieces. I decided it was my turn and let Mom know. I went to live with Dad and Mom when I was five. Mom says my doggo Mom was a German Shepherd and my doggo Dad was "a Rolling Stone." Then she starts singing. I don't get her sometimes. Before we moved here, we lived in a place where the weather was nice, then hot and sticky, then nice again and then frozen slurp juice fell from the sky. I like to drink slurp juice from my bowl, but I do not like it falling from the sky, especially when it's frozen! Five years ago, a man named Larry took me for a ride in our car. We drove for a while, and when we stopped Dad and Mom were in a new house! I don't know how they got here before me, but I sure was happy to see them. When we went for our first walks, there were new sights and sounds and new critters I'd never seen before such as Fluffy LongEars and Tiny Dragons. Mom says they have other names. I'm way bigger than they are, so I ignore them. I made some new friends right away. Miss Marty and Miss Patricia gave me lots of head scritches, so whenever I see them, I make Dad take me to say hello. My job is to protect Dad and Mom from bad people and other doggos, especially when I'm on leash. Dad says that makes for a zig-zaggy walk every day. My favorite person is Dad. I can count on him to give me a lot of treats! Mom's okay, unless she's interrupting my nap time with Dad. My next favorite thing is FOOD! Any kind, anywhere, any time! My best friend is Frankie Fox. Sometimes Frankie looks pretty well loved, other times he looks brand new! How does he do that? (Side Note from Mom: PetSmart.) So now you know about me, I'll be keeping my eyes on all of you! Pet Of The Month Interview Did you know The Mountain View Lodge has four Emergency Phones locations? Once you see them you will wonder how you never noticed the bright red box with bold white lettering before. There is one located in the outdoor pool area on the east facing wall near the utility rooms. We have one in the indoor pool area on the north facing wall near the shower. One is located upstairs on the east facing wall near the aerobics room entrance. There is also one in the gym on the east facing wall near the entrance. In case of emergency, simply lift the toggle, release the latch, and open the door. Once open, depending on the severity of the emergency, you can press the black button to be connected to the front desk or the red button to be connected to a 911 emergency operator. Hopefully, there will never be a need for the use of these phones, but it sure is comforting knowing they are there. DID YOU KNOW?
