The Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room is now open for groups to meet on a reservation-only basis. There is a limit of 10 people in the room at a time and it is first come, first served. We have secured the room for our group for the rest of the year on Mondays but the hours will be 1 to 2:30 pm. There is a 90-minute time limit. Everyone must wear a mask and must also clean and sanitize all tables and chairs and any other equipment used in the room after each use. Even though we have been unable to meet weekly I know that a few of our ladies have been kept busy with their own personal sewing projects and also making masks to give out to our community. The Sew What? Club has been unable to give our normal monthly donations to the hospital and the Pregnancy Center in San Bernardino, but behind the scenes our club has made "goodie" drawstring cloth bags that are then taken, filled and given out to the less fortunate by the chaplain at the hospital. Initially, 12 bags were given in August and then another 50 bags in September. So you see, despite our not getting together weekly, small things can be done at home. After much thought, since we can't be together, a few of us decided to go ahead and make the Christmas give away "stockings and mittens" for patients at the hospital at Christmas. On another note, I was called and asked to make a few items for Carol's Kitchen planned Christmas Faire give away in December to give out to those who come for their "sack lunch" meal. This is another avenue for us to give and Carol has been generous in supplying all the materials needed in these projects. If you would like more information just give me a call – Gail at (951) 797-3589. We hope by the beginning of the New Year we will be able to start meeting again but that will depend on COVID-19 restrictions. So stay connected, call a friend and reach out through your phone, text or email to stay safe. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Happy fall and happy Thanksgiving. I pray you're all staying well. So looking forward to 2021 back together quilting and to our wonderful life here.
