Spotlight on Ed Avina: The International
Dancers of Sun Lakes honor Ed Avina at this time for
his consistent diligence as a backup musician/singer
in all dance performances throughout the years. IDS
was approved by the Board of Directors on June 15,
2011. During the first show in 2012, Ed entertained
the large audience during each costume change,
and has continued as a backup in every show. Our
dancers did 20 to 25 performances a year in the beginning and Ed Avina
was always there to help.
IDS has entertained many districts, clubs and groups here in Sun Lakes, as well
as venues throughout the area, such as Edward-Dean Museum, Blessed Saint Kateri
Tekakwitha Ladies Guild, Kaiser Permanente, and San Gorgonio Hospital, as well as
Redlands Country Club. Also included are Noble Creek Community Center, Cherry
Valley HealthCare, and other nursing homes
in the area.
Ed Avina, also a skilled photographer,
continues to be a figure of strength for IDS.
We sincerely thank him for all that he has
contributed to help make IDS a success in
Sun Lakes.
