| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2020 | 3 From the President By Sandra Moyer Fall has arrived. It has been so nice to enjoy temperate days and cool nights. As you know Dan Comerford resigned from the Board on Sept. 23. He was a member for 7 ½ yrs. I want to thank him for his hard work and dedication to and for Sun Lakes, and wish him well as he can now truly enjoy his retirement days. The Board, as have previous Boards, followed past practices of appointing a previous Board Member to fill the six months left on Dan's term. We appointed Jack Sidwell who not only was a former Board Member, but also a Delegate for the last 20 years and representing the Delegates on the Restaurant & Lounge Task Force. With all of his knowledge and experience, there will be little learning curve necessary. We have an active and experienced Financial Advisory Committee. Since they also receive and review the monthly financials, the Board, at our Oct.28 open session, officially appointed Ron Varner (Chairman of the Committee) to be Treasurer. He will report the Committee's summary of the financials monthly to the Board and the report will continue to be posted in the Lifestyles. The Restaurant Task Force has continued to work diligently to get our restaurant open on Nov. 18. Some new changes are coming your way. We will be utilizing "eblasts" to inform you of real time events. Examples, Daily Specials, Monthly Themes, etc. If you do not want to receive these notifications, there will be an unsubscribe option – just click on it. Please read the General Manager's report that address' the new Business Model change and update on finding a new POS System. The Marketing Committee put together a standard cover sheet template for the Delegates to use with their Newsletters. It will have pertinent information, dates, and activities for each month. The Bar has been renovated. During the process, mold was found on one wall but it was caught early, removed, and replaced with new dry wall. When you return, you will see a larger bar area, new granite and design. Even though, due to the COVID shut down, the Board extended the terms of Committee Members, there are still openings on some such as the MAC & the FAC and watch in Lifestyles to see if there are other openings. You can get the Interest Forms at the front desk in the Main Clubhouse. The Board wants to form an ad hoc committee to review the current rules and regulations for possible updates. We are looking for residents that have been here from 0-5 yrs., 5-15 yrs., and 15 yrs. and longer. If interested, please email Marsha Midgett at marsha.midgett@sunlakescc.com. I want to wish all of you a happy and blessed Thanksgiving and let you know that our Restaurant will be offering those delicious Thanksgiving take home dinners. Please check the website and Lifestyles for details. Want to challenge your family and friends at Thanksgiving Dinner?
