"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" We do enjoy being of service in this community. This picture was taken a few years ago when we hosted a golf tournament in Four Seasons. We handed out those yellow bags to participants. We could not have that activity in today's "climate" with masks and social distancing, but share these wonderful faces of Team Sunshine volunteers. We continue to extend whatever services we can in the wake of the COVID-19 restrictions in the community. Vaccinations: A number of Sunshiners helped with sanitizing chairs and encouraging social distancing as they placed residents in special seating areas in the Ballroom for Rite Aid's vaccination program. We were privileged to help Tracie Rodgers, Activities Director, with this event. Health and Senior Resource Fair: Arbor Hospice provided an outdoor health and resource fair in October. Many health services were provided. This has been a yearly Team Sunshine event although this year we had our challenges. Sunshiners assisted in guiding residents to the proper screening area and encouraging social distancing and masks where required. Bistro Food Delivery: After many months of providing Bistro meal delivery services, Team Sunshine has suspended this service. Our thanks to, not only Sunshiners, but to those who stepped in to help. Celebrations/Memorials: We were saddened to learn of the passing of Phyllis Duronslet, Joyce Crimi, Don Greene, Bertha Sanchez and Marv Schneider. Family members were contacted regarding any special services we might provide. With the quarantine, it has been difficult to reach out the way we would like to these families experiencing such great loss. We don't always know of all the passings in Four Seasons. Our condolences go to those families as well. For your convenience, a prayer request box has been provided in the MPR. If you desire to have someone prayed for, prayer cards are provided. The cards are picked up weekly and that request will be filled. Closing Thoughts: "Cherish all your happy moments: they make a fine cushion for old age."
