| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2020 | 3 By Walt Bowman, HOA President As I sit here and ponder my thoughts, I want to begin by reviewing our recent HOA election. We all know by now the final outcome and the elected HOA Board of 2020-21. If you ran and won, congratulations are in order. If you ran and lost, The Colony salutes you for "putting yourself out there." There are, however, a few issues that the new Board will need to address. Will the Board continue to outsource the election? What is the future of the "signs?" How might we keep the "outside influences" of a national election from spilling over into our community and HOA elections? Will the CC&Rs, Bylaws and guidelines for signs to be posted for City Council and national elections need to be updated? These are only a few issues that come to mind. The community will need to be surveyed for your thoughts and ideas. November is here. Allow me to direct your attention to what I would trust is a month of Thanksgiving leading up to the big day. I would like to challenge each of us to take our calendar and place one thought for which you/we are thankful each day. Can you come up with 30 reasons to be grateful? Are you willing to take the challenge and list a blessing or reason daily for which you are thankful? I will be asking Kara to take the leadership mantle and request that each member of the Associa team and all the Directors take a day or two during the month to offer our "thankful" message. She would then post the person and his or her message of thankfulness each day. I am excited about the prospect of the community pitching in and taking part in this unique and hopefully inspiring challenge. Will you join me in this endeavor?
