| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2020 | 5 HOA NEWS News bits From Eblast Notice on Sept. 22, 2020 Our office received information about a possible exposure to COVID-19 in the common areas of our community. A staff member who was in the common area has tested positive for COVID-19. We are closing the common area facilities (pool, locker rooms, sport courts, offices, etc.) temporarily out of an abundance of caution and staff will not be on-site for a few days. The common area facilities will be deep cleaned prior to reopening. We are working with the County of Riverside to determine any additional recommended steps. It is our understanding that the person who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus was last on site on Sept. 15. Staff who work from home will continue to do so. If you need assistance or have questions, please email staff if possible rather than calling the office. If you call the office, you will need to leave a message. Phone messages will be monitored periodically. Here are some important items: • In consideration of all staff members and as a matter of privacy, we cannot disclose the name of the staff member. • All residents are encouraged to continue to help protect themselves and others by following the COVID-19 guidelines. • If anyone is concerned about exposure, the CDC's website can help determine the next steps. • The County is aware of any positive test results so the County may be reaching out to Colony residents as part of its overall tracing process. • The Association is following all County recommendations and will continue to do so. • The common area facilities are being sanitized and will continue to be cleaned and sanitized regularly. Please be reminded of the importance of protecting the health of others during this pandemic by notifying our office if you or a household member test positive. Please also refrain from coming to the community facilities after they reopen if you have been around someone who has tested positive until you have passed the 14-day incubation time frame and have been cleared from quarantine and/or are awaiting testing results themselves. It is everyone's responsibility to protect the health of others and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We cannot stress enough the importance of following the guidelines and directives provided by local, State, and Federal Agencies. Whether you agree with the restrictions or not, you must follow the rules. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal from the facilities. No exceptions. Contacting Office Staff Even though the Clubhouse and offices are closed, your management team will continue to be available daily during normal business hours. You may contact staff members by phone or email. Please refer to the contact information on page 2. eBlast Notifications Stay informed with the latest HOA communications! Positive COVID-19 Case The California Stay at Home Order is still in place until further notice by the State of California Governor and individuals age 65 and older, or with chronic medical conditions, are at increased risk of effects of COVID-19. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid the area if you are experiencing symptoms of illness including a fever of 100°F or above, sore throat, runny nose, chills, not feeling well, sneezing, coughing, abdominal pain, or diarrhea. The Board has passed these temporary rules in order to allow residents to conditionally use a portion of the Association's amenities. With that stated, it is the Board's expectation that all residents will comply with these temporary rules. If any resident is found to be in non-compliance with any of these, or any other Association rules, the Board reserves the right to enforce said rules as it deems appropriate within its authority.
