SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | NOVEMBER 2020 13
By Clare Mendez, Resident
Meet Bos. His name sounds a
lot like "Booze," but in Persian, Bos
means "kiss" and not an alcohol
drink. Bos does not sit, stay, fetch
or roll over. Tom (his master) said
he flunked obedience school, but he
tries to make up for his lack of skills
by being a sweet and loving dog.
Bos lived in Houston, Texas,
along the bayou, where he would go
for long walks with Tom. Then one
day in 2017 Hurricane Harvey made
the bayou flood. Those flood waters
rose so fast that they had to be
rescued by a Coast Guard boat. Bos'
house was ruined. It was time to
put all that in the past and move on.
Now Bos goes for long walks
outside the gates of SDV where he
can explore a drier terrain. And,
when he's walking along the Paseo,
he likes to meet and greet all the
other dogs and their owners, maybe
hoping to share one of his namesake
kisses. He enjoys the neighbors so
much, in fact, that he pulls on his
leash and cries if he is not allowed
to say hello.
