36 | OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2020 | Swim, Surf & Wellness We are pleased to report several more activities have been added for residents who want to get in the pool to swim, exercise, or improve their strokes. The new activities have been added with keeping our residents safe, while maintaining proper physical distancing. Currently on Tuesday mornings at 9 am, Leesa Singer offers her new FUNctional ShaDeep Aqua Fitness class. Before you join a class, you must register each week using the following link: https://aqualeesa. setmore.com/. The cost for each class is $5. For more details on registering for Leesa's classes, what to expect, what to consider bringing to support your foot comfort and buoyancy, go to the Swim, Surf, and Wellness Club website and click the link on the HOME page right beside the What's New section. Another activity that we are offering to residents is one-on-one swim coaching/instruction while swimming in Pool Lane #1. On Saturdays, anytime between 9 am and 12 pm, a resident who reserves lane #1 will have the opportunity to receive coaching instruction from one of our Resident Instructors at no charge. This opportunity for the free instruction will run for a six-week period. The coaches who may be contacted are: Ken Kruger, Robin Ryan, and Frank Tanner. These coaches will instruct from the deck of the pool, and all COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced to keep everyone as safe as possible. Other pool lanes will continue to be available for other residents during the instruction time. To schedule with one of the instructors, please contact the coaches individually (they are all listed in the OHCC directory) or send an email to ohccswimclub@gmail.com. Our Board is pleased to welcome the following new co-secretaries Nel Stingley and Nancy Gordon. They will be splitting the secretarial duties of maintaining the Board and Membership meeting minutes, sending member announcements out via email, and helping to produce the Swim, Surf, and Wellness Club Member Spotlight which was started by our previous club secretary Layne Strelic. If you want to stay current with what is going on at the Club's Board meetings or are interested in attending a meeting, we typically meet once per month on the third Tuesday of the month. Previous Board meeting Record and Membership Meeting Records are posted on our Swim, Surf, and Wellness Club website. You can also send an email to ohccswimclub@gamil.com. In the October issue of OHCC Living, the Swim, Surf, and Wellness Club article that made it to the final print did not have the name of the book for the referenced Book Review. It is Food: What the Heck Should I Eat? Please visit our club website to read the full book review. It can be found under the drop-down menu under Wellness Information.
