32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2020 | Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Jeann Svarvar and all her students in Tap wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! She still is 'zooming her classes" and is looking forward to 2021. Hopefully, by then she will have regular classes and be able to meet you all ! Please contact Jeann Svarvar (951) 990-2779 or svarvar@svarvar.net for more information. Tap Dance The Pink Ukuladies & Gents Many of our Pink Ukuladies & Gents continue practicing on Zoom with both the Yucaipa Yukes as well as Barry Thompson's Loma Linda Strummers. Every week there is an opportunity to learn new techniques from the Loma Linda Strummers' group. They actively work on transposition of keys, second to fifth position on the fret (the neck) of the ukulele, as well as new strumming methods. The future for our group remains undetermined; in the meantime, those who are attending Zoom meetings are deriving pleasure and a needed break from isolation. Int'l Culture Club December is upon us and we have missed seeing our ICC friends and neighbors at our monthly dinner dances. But, don't lose hope, we are awaiting the green light to be able to begin holding events in the coming year. The menus for 2021 have been planned with our new Executive Chef, Hugo Salazar. Dinners will be plated and served and will include two meat selections as well as one vegetarian choice. Bands scheduled to play in 2020 will play for our events in 2021. Our membership remains high and membership dues paid in 2020 will carry over into 2021. No refunds will be issued for membership. In addition, members who paid for the March 2020 dinner dance which was canceled due to the pandemic will have those monies applied to the first event they attend in 2021. The ICC Board wishes everyone a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to seeing our friends and neighbors again in 2021. It is with much sorrow that we inform our members that Carol Hurt, the Treasurer for the club, passed away on Oct. 3, 2020. Carol had served on the ICC Board for many years and she and her contributions will be greatly missed.
