| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2020 | 43 As we enter the holiday season, I wish you all safe and happy holidays. As COVID numbers continue to rise, I think most of us are giving up on hoping the world will return to normal any time soon. We may even think that "normal" might look very different for years to come. Did you know that hand shakes came about, centuries ago, as a way to show the other that no weapons were present. Maybe hand shakes will go away for health reasons. It's really hard for me to run into a friend without exchanging hugs but we simply have to stop ourselves these days. Remember, if you or your spouse are 80 years old or older, you are both eligible to be members of the wonderful 80s Plus Club. Though we may be one of the last clubs to reconvene during this pandemic turmoil, I can only presume it will be well into 2021 before our get togethers continue. We have been gathering each month (pre-pandemic, of course) for a social dinner and first rate entertainment. We are always in the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. During 2021, our meeting days/dates will change from Saturdays to Sundays, still at 3 pm and we'll share any word of getting together again as it approaches. I do hope you are all well and safe and I hope to see you all on the other side.
